Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy losing match after match after match, constantly changing fits and escalating in power tiers in some hopeless effort to maybe even up the odds while the "match maker" screws me every time. Maybe my MU is so high that it feels it's necessary to pit me and a team of Militia wielding redline snipers up against full proto squads consistently, even though I continuously lose round after lound, rather than - I dunno - being on the winning team sometime.
Ten minutes ago, Dust 514 made it's mark in my autobiography as the first - and to date, only - game that I've ever actually broken a controller to the point it needed a replacement.
See you guys next week when my over-priced, "brand new" relic DS3 comes in and I can continue playing this ever-more frustrating game that somehow can't seem to ever nail a decent match setup.

we know what we want to do on matchmaking,
1) 4 man squads for pubs, 8/12/16 for FW and PC 2) Academy 2.0 3) Metalevel locked modes with escalating risk reward
Let me tell how optimistic I am for that to actually work compared to the past three years of attempts with a picture: http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/Optimism_c26127_1526169.jpg

I've got a bridge and a lake to sell to anyone who believes that removing 2 players from a squad will stop that squad from stomping the crap out of them.
Yeh, well maybe Academy 2.0 will do us a whole lot of justice /he said with the utmost sarcasm

Yeh, well maybe Academy 2.0 will do us a whole lot of justice /he said with the utmost sarcasm It'll probably be the only thing that makes a difference, since it'll get the players who don't have anything but a Starter Fit out of normal PUBs, thus reducing the amount of blueberries in circulation.
Which is -contrary- to what we need for the MU system to work. If your Proto squad's MU is 100, total, and my MU individually is 7.... but there's no-one else to fill the spot... Do you honestly think the Battle Finder is going to wait until I get paired off with people of a similar MU level? No, it's going to throw me in there because Scotty just loves pissing people off.

See you guys next week when my over-priced, "brand new" relic DS3 comes in and I can continue playing this ever-more frustrating game that somehow can't seem to ever nail a decent match setup. Wow man you totally echoed my experience tonight... every game i played (ambush and dom) was a merciless permascanned beatdown. I had one mission i wanted to complete for a key (20,999sp one match) which was proving impossible. I finally managed 20,455, or something really close like that and just said screw it and paid the aur for the instantboost. I just couldn't do it anymore. on the brightside i didn't break a controller
Been like that every night for me for the past year or so. I'm so fed up with this on-going meta, the constant gameplay gimmicks, never actually having an enjoyable gameplay experience, etc. There was a point when I could legitimately set the control down, smiling, and thinking to myself, "Wow, that was awesome" but now it's just frustration every time. I used to cap out every week and now I'll be lucky if I pull 100,000 SP out of my cap because I just don't care to constantly get my kitten handed to me.
But, yanno, "git gud" right? Just saying, back in Chromosome I used to kick ass with an ~7.5 KDR and it's been declining every since, I think I'm at like 2.3 or something now. Which is to say that I didn't change, the game changed. I dunno what culmination of changes made me just this really bad player who can never actually have a good game that I don't sit there and dwell on all the BS entailed in previous matches but whatever it is it's totally killed any joy I find in playing it anymore.
Nocturnal Soul wrote:I still find it difficult to understand how people rage at games...maybe it's time for you to take a break.
I take a break a week after every new build since Uprising 1.8. I genuinely don't play this game that much anymore. It's nothing like it used to be. I just sort of sign in every time there's a new build hopelessly optimistic that maybe I'll find it enjoyable again but I'm always proving myself wrong. EDIT: It's also the only game I ever get frustrated playing. Anything else, the losses are laughable at best. Dust 514 is like trying to find enjoyment from fellating a hot curling iron.

Yeah, maybe, but if I let go of that hope I'll just disappear completely and go play something I actually enjoy. Maybe I should start looking for someone to take over the AIV/PSD stuff. Kaze seems pretty chill, might just shoulder him with that burden.
-Shrug- I've really gotten to the point where it's not even worth trying anymore.

I've got a bridge and a lake to sell to anyone who believes that removing 2 players from a squad will stop that squad from stomping the crap out of them. Put a competent squad on either side of match and see decreased odds of a stomp. A squad of 4 stomps less hard than a squad of 6. hese are plain and simple facts, Atiim.
Unless of course Scotty does what he always does and just puts all the squads on one team and all the random individuals on the other because #MUReasons
EDIT: Can we experiment with this? Can we get several full squads of FA, OH, Nyain San and just que up at the same time and see how often they actually get pitted against each other?

You could just say "git gud" like everyone else. I wouldn't be angry; promise. Clearly something isn't working because the community still thinks the system is kittened off. But, yanno, I can't even tell you at this point because I have to wait for a new controller to be able to record my matches and show you.

I don't smoke inside (and thereby, never when I'm playing). I only smoke to calm down from frustrating/stressful matches or in preparation of a PC. I went from a pack a week to three packs a week as of Uprising 1.7

Got a new one inbound already. Cost $45.
Funkmaster Whale wrote:Jesus. You got mad enough to break a controller? Maybe you should put the game down and go take a walk or something. Like, I've gotten mad as hell at the game but I just turn the game off when I get angry. Ragequitting is a healthy alternative, I don't care what people say. If you're not having fun with the game turn it off. I'll start up DUST here and there but I can't ever play more than 2-3 matches nowadays just because of how **** poor the game runs. The matchmaking isn't something that can ever be remedied. Bad players will be bad players. The second I see my game is hopeless because I have 12 "snipers" on my team sitting in the redline, I just leave. There's no punishment for leaving and there's no point to try and fight 1v16. Some of the players in this game are really pathetic too. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've had games like this only for someone from the enemy team to Hatemail me some sh-t like "LOLOLOL GET OWNED" because they got a kill on me with their entire team at their back with mine being nowhere in sight. If you ain't having fun, just stop playing. Simple, easy, and healthy alternative to smashing your controller.
Quite the contrary, my counselor says that taking out my anger on the controller is a healthy (if potentially expensive) alternative to... previous methods. But like I said in the OP, Dust 514 is the only game that generates that sort of response. If I were to stop playing because I'm not having fun I should have stopped playing Dust 514 as of Uprising 1.8 and never looked back.

ok heres a secnario: you work alll day and night for a report or 10 page essay paper your little sibling comes in and be a **** and push the power button on the computer its not all over you had a backup file right?
you did but come later and the file keeps coming up as a error over and over and over
thats how this game is
Was after a thirteen (13) hour work day, was just trying to get my kittening keys and do some daily missions. As you can see, that was far too frustrating because apparently getting three victories is something of an achievement in and of itself in Dust 514 when you're running solo.
Dreis Shadowweaver wrote:To OP, I advise avoiding Ambush like the plague.
Was a Skirmish match. I quit running Ambush because of the Minimum WP requirement to earn SP and the general "don't give a kitten" response by the overall community when I brought it up as being dumb.

If if was fixed what are the criteria for 'almost finished'?
Can't see any difference from before, tbh.
I was put into a match the other day where my team's MCC only had one tick of HP left. I didn't even bother spawning because I knew there was no way in hell I was going to get the Minimum WP and if I died I'd just be losing ISK.
It's not fixed. At all.
